Job summary

System One, Inc. in Port Washington, WI seeks a Mechanical Project Engineer to support the project team on complex initiatives and serve as a lead technical resource on smaller projects. You will collaborate with management, manage change orders, and expedite materials to keep timelines and budgets aligned.

You will also assemble submittal packages, procure equipment and services, and participate in subcontractor selection. Strong communication and CAD/Microsoft Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Engineering or applicable experience.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in related field.
• In-depth knowledge of systems design such as HVAC, plumbing, etc., and understanding of system operations.
• Ability to read mechanical and plumbing plans.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with CAD and Microsoft Office products, including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Support the project team on various complex projects, acting as a lead technical resource on smaller initiatives.
• Collaborate with management and stakeholders, providing updates on issues affecting project timeline and budget.
• Manage change orders, ensuring accuracy and proper tracking.
• Expedite materials to meet project deadlines.
• Estimate the impact of project changes and interpret plans and specifications.
• Assemble complete submittal packages and other required project documentation.
• Procure equipment, materials, and services; participate in the selection and hiring of subcontractors.
• Analyze and resolve complex questions and problems as needed.
