Job summary

CMTA, a Legence Company, offers a hands-on co-op in mechanical/HVAC/energy design for engineering students, with onsite work in our Charlotte office. You will learn to design and implement building systems, while collaborating with engineers and a project team on real CMTA projects.

The program targets Mechanical or Architectural Engineering majors (sophomore or junior) and emphasizes field verification, drawings, and hands-on training under professional engineers.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering, preferably a sophomore or junior.
• Strong interest in Building Systems Mechanical Engineering.
• AutoCAD and REVIT experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work both independently and with a team.
• Ability to travel locally for field work and site inspections.
• No sponsorship available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed layout and equipment details of HVAC systems.
• Produce one-line diagrams/schematics.
• Assist the design team in assembling organized sets of drawings.
• May assist in data collection and/or field verification.
• Work with designers and engineers to develop all aspects of a project.
