Job summary

Cherokee Federal seeks a Mechanical Engineer (Mid) to lead Sub-AMP development and support lifecycle management of HVAC, water, wastewater, and other mechanical utilities at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii. This onsite role requires CAC access and a favorable DoD background check.

Responsibilities include forecasting, risk mitigation, energy optimization, and coordinating with planners, engineers, and mission partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of mechanical-engineering experience and minimum three years of military facility or infrastructure experience.
• Preferred Professional Engineer (PE) license and experience with Air Force utility infrastructure, HVAC, central plants, water/wastewater systems, and energy management.

Responsibilities

• Analyze BUILDER SMS and Utilities SMS data to develop mechanical Sub-AMPs.
• Prepare five-year and ten-year mechanical infrastructure forecasts and lifecycle investment plans.
• Assess condition and capacity of water, wastewater, HVAC, plumbing, and related mechanical systems.
• Identify mechanical-utility risks, including single points of failure, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Identify energy-conservation and optimization opportunities and prepare ROI analyses.
• Translate AMP priorities into project requirements, statements of work, cost-estimate inputs, and DD Form 1391 inputs.
• Conduct physical inventories and support Sustainment Management System updates.
• Coordinate with planners, engineers, environmental staff, mission partners, and other stakeholders.
