Job summary

Cherokee Federal is seeking an Electrical Engineer (Mid) to manage electrical infrastructure planning and energy resilience for installations at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, HI. The role requires CAC eligibility and a favorable DoD background investigation, with no supervisory responsibilities.

The position focuses on power distribution, generation, lighting, and lifecycle planning, coordinating with civil and mechanical disciplines to align with the Installation Energy Plan and AMP

Qualifications

• CAC is required and the ability to pass DoD background checks.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution in the U.S.
• Minimum five years of electrical-engineering experience; minimum three years in military facility/infrastructure experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical-distribution and power-generation components of the Utilities AMP.
• Assess electrical-system conditions within facilities using BUILDER SMS and data.
• Develop electrical infrastructure lifecycle-maintenance, replacement, recapitalization, and resilience strategies.
• Integrate Installation Energy Plan objectives into AMP priorities.
• Develop prioritized backup-power and energy-resilience project lists.
• Coordinate electrical planning with civil and mechanical disciplines.
• Prepare utility-conflict matrices and coordinated, multi-discipline project lists.
• Conduct physical inventories and support updates to Sustainment Management Systems.
• Coordinate with CES flights and stakeholders supporting utility infrastructure projects.
