Job summary

Cherokee Federal is seeking an HVAC Technician for an onsite role at Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii. The position requires a CAC and favorable DoD background investigations.

You will conduct condition assessments, maintain asset data in BUILDER SMS, and develop preventive maintenance schedules for HVAC, refrigeration, and plant equipment. Strong troubleshooting and repair-versus-replace recommendations are expected.

Qualifications

• CAC eligibility and ability to pass DoD background checks.
• Prolonged desk work; may require standing or moving about.
• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed condition assessments of HVAC, refrigeration, and plant equipment.
• Update HVAC and mechanical asset data in BUILDER SMS.
• Maintain HVAC and mechanical condition logs.
• Align preventive-maintenance work with critical assets and lifecycle strategies identified in the Mechanical Sub-AMP.
• Develop annual HVAC preventive-maintenance schedules.
• Troubleshoot failing mechanical assets and prepare technical evaluations.
• Provide repair-versus-replace recommendations for high-value assets.
• Coordinate with CES flights and stakeholders on utility infrastructure projects.
