Job summary

General Motors Manufacturing Group in Bowling Green, Kentucky is seeking a Group Leader to drive operational excellence in production, quality, or Global Supply Chain. You will lead teams, manage daily operations, and champion Lean and Built-in-Quality initiatives across shifts.

This onsite position requires strong supervisory skills, ability to solve problems, and effective collaboration with unions. You will coach Team Leaders, analyze data, and implement improvements to ensure safety,

Qualifications

• One year of direct supervisory experience or at least 5 months as an internal GM per diem group leader.
• Experience managing, leading people, and addressing performance concerns.
• Experience solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills, conflict management, and decision making.
• Demonstrate a high analytical ability to solve complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and adjust daily manufacturing plans; manage manpower allocation and respond to issues to maintain production flow.
• Improve business results using Lean Manufacturing; identify and eliminate waste for Safety, Quality, Throughput, and Cost.
• Enforce quality processes with customer safety at the center; perform confirmations and ensure compliance.
• Coach and mentor team members and Team Leaders to foster skill development and adherence to standard work practices.
• Locate and analyze operational data to support accountability and continuous improvement initiatives.
