Job summary

Greystar in Mount Pleasant, SC seeks a maintenance technician to oversee and perform routine and preventive maintenance across the community. You will respond to resident work orders, manage make-ready tasks for vacant units, and maintain safety and quality standards throughout buildings and common areas.

You will also assist with budgeting for repairs and capital projects, coordinate with contractors, and uphold Greystar’s service and safety standards while delivering excellent resident service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience and training.
• Experience in property management maintenance, other building maintenance, or related trade.
• Incumbents must provide own hand tools and be skilled in safe use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices.
• Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define and correct problems.
• Proficiency in customer service and interpersonal communication to interact with residents and team.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively and to use a property management system (PMs) (experience preferred).
• Mathematical skills to perform basic arithmetic for financial, administrative, and legal documents.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and completes work orders from resident requests and routine upkeep.
• Maintains the community by diagnosing defects and performing repairs per safety standards.
• Manages the make-ready process for vacant units, including inspections and scheduling contractors.
• Develops cleanliness and appearance standards for grounds, buildings, and common areas.
• Inspects work by others and contractors to ensure quality and compliance.
• Keeps inventory and orders supplies within budget; assists in budgeting for repairs and capital projects.
• Conducts safety meetings and keeps MSDS sheets current; ensures OSHA compliance.
• Interacts with residents professionally, addressing questions and concerns about maintenance.
