Job summary

Wabtec is seeking a Materials Specialist - Locomotive Maintenance for the Amtrak account in Chicago, IL. Onsite role requiring material management and logistics support within a locomotive repair environment.

You will work alongside Wabtec experts, receive extensive training, and help ensure parts are available for repairs with 12-month certification training and flexible shifts including nights.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in logistics or shipping/receiving.
• Experience operating a forklift and shop equipment.
• Experience with inventory software and Microsoft applications.
• Ability to complete Wabtec Materials Certification Training within 12 months.
• Flexible schedule including overnight shifts.

Responsibilities

• Pull material from warehouse for shop use and conduct daily counts.
• Coordinate inbound/outbound shipments and manage inventory.
• Operate forklift and perform shift inspections.
• Support forecasting of material needs and cycle counts.
• Process warranty claims and assemble customer orders from stock.
