Job summary

Johnson Controls in Waynesboro, PA is seeking a Lab Technician for the FRICK manufacturing facility to test semi-hermetic compressors used in chiller equipment. This onsite role requires commuting distance or relocation; relocation packages are available.

You will set up tests, calibrate instruments, diagnose issues, and work with Engineering to meet test criteria. Proficiency with refrigeration cycles and AC/DC circuitry is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Understanding of the refrigeration cycle and its components from training, education, or hands-on experience.
• Ability to wire motors and drives.
• Understanding of AC and DC circuitry and the ability to create control circuits.
• Capable of setting up and diagnosing test systems with basic instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out testing as defined by test requests and Engineering criteria.
• Operate test stand equipment safely and diagnose issues.
• Plan and set up test programs including piping, tubing, calibration, and data acquisition.
• Diagnose electrical circuitry (DC/AC) and troubleshoot problems during tests.
• Maintain lab function by servicing test blocks and components.
