Job summary

Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management and building systems, is seeking a Senior Lab Technician for the 2nd shift in New Freedom, PA. You will drive chiller development testing, ensure accurate data collection, and collaborate with Test Engineers to validate new products.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in HVAC, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology, or 3+ years of relevant experience.
• 1+ years hands-on use of computerized test facility control and data acquisition programs, including test condition programming and data viewing in trend interfaces.
• Familiarity with industrial HVAC systems, refrigerant handling, and designing test protocols.
• Understanding HVAC principles and ability to resolve design discrepancies.
• Willingness to work Monday–Friday 3:30pm–12:00am and be a US citizen or permanent resident.

Responsibilities

• Configure, set up, and validate operation of test equipment and meters per established procedures.
• Program test sequences into data acquisition software for automated test facilities.
• Maintain instrumentation lists and automated test protocols.
• Review test data for accuracy and compare with expected results.
• Develop and maintain operating procedures for equipment and lab operations.
• Provide first-level support for test lab issues and troubleshoot testing processes.
• Train and mentor lab personnel and support engineering teams.
