Johnson Controls is seeking a Lab Technician for its FRICK manufacturing facility in Waynesboro, PA. The role involves testing semi-hermetic compressors for various chiller equipment, operating test stands, diagnosing issues, and setting up test programs.

Onsite relocation packages are available for candidates willing to relocate to Waynesboro. Candidates must commute or relocate; preferred EPA 608 license and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office.

What you will do

Johnson Controls is hiring a Lab Technician for our FRICK manufacturing facility located in Waynesboro, PA. You will be responsible for testing semi-hermetic compressors designed for our various chiller equipment. This position is onsite in Waynesboro, PA. Candidates must be commuting distance to the facility, or able to relocate. Various relocation packages are available.

How you will do it

Carry out testing as outlined by test requests, and criteria defined by Engineering. Must be able to operate test stand equipment in a safe manner. Properly diagnose and correct problems encountered during testing. Plan and set up test programs: setting up pipework, bending tubing, calibrating instrumentation, programing channel configurations in data acquisition system, pulling vacuum and charging systems. Diagnose electrical circuitry, both DC and AC (Single and Three Phase). Maintain proper lab function by performing maintenance on various test blocks as well as their associated components

What you will need

• Understanding of the refrigeration cycle and its components. This can come from technical training, education, or hands on experience
• Ability to wire motors and drives
• Understanding of AC and DC circuitry
• Capability of creating control circuits
• Maintains a positive attitude and work well with others
• Associate’s degree from college or technical school; or 2+ years of related experience and/or training in refrigeration; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), as well as Internet software and E-mail Occasionally required to lift no more than 50 pounds US Citizen and/or Permanent Resident of the United States. Sponsorship is not available Preferred Refrigeration License (EPA 608) Knowledge of hot gas bypass loops

Hourly Pay Range

$28.00 - $35.00 (Hourly wage to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
