Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Test Lab Facilities Engineering Manager in New Freedom, PA to lead planning, design, budgeting, and lifecycle management of test laboratory infrastructure supporting HVAC, refrigeration, and related facilities. You will oversee capital projects, coordinate multi-discipline teams, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

The role requires 8+ years in mechanical engineering design within HVAC, capital project management, and travel up to 15%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Experience in HVAC design and capital project management.
• Travel up to 15% of the time.
• US Citizen and/or Permanent Resident.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual designs and cost estimates for MRP project elements during budgeting.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data; develop engineering computer programs (e.g., Excel, LabVIEW).
• Prepare final designs including drawings, RFQs, BOMs, and construction specifications.
• Coordinate with electrical, controls, and other disciplines for HVAC test facility projects.
• Lead JADEC’s test lab infrastructure strategy, modernization initiatives, and capital plans.
• Manage multiple capital projects with scope, budgeting, scheduling, risk, procurement, installation, commissioning, and closeout.
• Develop and maintain critical path schedules and resource-loaded project plans.
