Job summary

PerkinElmer in Annapolis and Gaithersburg seeks a Lab Support Coordinator to provide critical lab services within our Scientific Services Lab Resource Coordinator team. The role aims to enable smooth lab operations by acting as a single point of contact for designated buildings or locations on site.

The candidate will coordinate lab activities, manage stock and safety compliance, support waste handling, and liaise with vendors and lab staff to ensure timely, quality service daily.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree with 1+ years’ experience in a customer-facing role within a scientific environment.
• High School Diploma with 2+ years’ experience in a customer-facing role within a scientific environment.
• Familiarity with GLP/GxP or compliance-driven settings is preferred.
• Experience applying 5S principles in lab or facility operations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as point of contact for customer lab staff and coordinate lab needs.
• Collaborate with teams to deliver lab support services smoothly.
• Oversee stock items and ensure proper lab supply management.
• Coordinate waste removal and liaise with third-party vendors as needed.
• Escort vendors to lab sites for maintenance or repairs and document activities.
• Communicate updates on service work requests to lab users.
• Maintain safety compliance and assist with 5S lean initiatives.
• Provide onboarding and basic induction for new staff and visitors.
