Job summary

PerkinElmer is seeking a Lab Support Coordinator for the Merck site in Rahway, NJ. You will escort third-party service personnel, verify safety, and ensure smooth handoffs to equipment owners while obtaining service reports.

You will maintain instrument inventory, document changes in SAP, support lab operations, and uphold health, safety, security, and environmental compliance. Strong communication and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or HS diploma with relevant scientific customer-facing experience.

Responsibilities

Job Title

Job Responsibilities

• Escort third‑party service personnel to customer sites, verify safety requirements, and manage handoff to equipment owners; obtain service reports upon completion.
• Communicate program information, troubleshoot and resolve issues with customers using professional, cost‑effective, diplomatic communication; escalates problems to managers or program leaders and follows up to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintain instrument inventory integrity by conducting sweeps, spot checks, documenting changes, and updating the SAP database through the ARC change‑control process.
• Perform additional laboratory support activities as directed by department leadership and PKI.
• Maintain training and compliance for health and safety, security, environmental and operational daily activities.

Basic Qualifications

• Associate’s degree with 1+ year experience in a customer‑facing role within a scientific environment, or
• High School Diploma with 2+ years experience in a customer‑facing role within a scientific environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification or Associate’s degree in a relevant field and 1–2 years of customer‑facing experience within a scientific environment.
• Basic understanding of GLP/GxP and/or experience working in a compliance‑driven environment.

Working Environment

Requires working in laboratory or controlled environments with personal protective equipment (lab coat, safety glasses, etc.). Job pace may be fast with high completion demands. Work involves stationary tasks >25% of time, frequent movement between labs and corridors, bending, squatting, stretching, reaching. Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds). Vision requirements include close‑range detail, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception. May require medical clearance, respiratory protection training, and fit testing. Uses computer, copier, printer.

Compensation

The annual compensation range for this full‑time position is $50,000 to $60,000. Base pay is determined by internal equity, location, and individual qualifications.
