Job summary

TEKsystems in North Chicago, IL seeks a Lab Computing Analyst to provide on-site IT support in a regulated laboratory environment. This hands-on role blends traditional IT support with compliance, validation, and stakeholder coordination.

You will work with scientists and vendors, implement Windows security policies, support GxP machines, and help drive process improvements while maintaining asset inventory and periodic reporting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a lab support role working directly with scientists, vendors, and lab instruments.
• 3+ years supporting a Windows environment.
• Experience supporting GxP machines and operating within a GxP-regulated environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across complex instrument and technology issues.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills — written and verbal.
• Ability to manage tasks across multiple concurrent projects.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform break/fix support for instrument-connected systems and act as primary technical contact for field service engineers and external vendors.
• Implement Windows-based security policies and ensure adherence to corporate compliance programs through periodic reporting.
• Maintain a physical inventory of lab equipment, PCs, software, and other assets.
• Support validation and compliance activities (IOPQ) and provide technical SME for system validation and change management.
• Gather and analyze requirements, assess current-state processes, and recommend process improvements aligned with industry best practices.
• Evaluate vendor solutions and facilitate proof-of-concept demos.
• Coordinate with internal and external service groups, delivering weekly schedules and participating in monthly reviews and quarterly metrics reporting.
• Perform preventative maintenance on systems based on client schedules.
