Job summary

Sarasota County is seeking an on-site Desktop Support Specialist to resolve Tier 2 hardware, software, and connectivity issues across County facilities. You will deploy and refresh computers, assist EIT projects, and maintain documentation.

The role requires a 2-year degree with 2 years of related experience or a Bachelor’s in a related field with some experience. A Florida driver’s license is required, and you will join a 40-hour workweek with on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree combined with two years of desktop support experience or related role.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS or related field with some relevant experience.
• Up to four years of related work experience may substitute for formal education.
• Valid Florida driver's license within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve Tier 2 hardware, software, connectivity, and technology service requests.
• Provide onsite technical support across County facilities while operating an assigned County vehicle.
• Prepare, configure, deploy, replace, and support computers and peripherals for refresh/deploy programs.
• Collaborate with EIT teams and escalate complex/high-priority issues as needed.
• Create and update technical documentation, knowledge articles, and procedures.
• Participate in EIT projects, testing, deployment, and training.
• Provide onsite support for priority incidents and operational needs.
• Participate in 24/7/365 on-call rotation.
• Maintain and expand technical knowledge through training and self-learning.
• Operate and maintain an assigned County vehicle.
