Job summary

Sun Hydraulics is seeking an IT Help Desk Technician to provide hands-on technical support to our manufacturing and professional staff on 100% onsite basis in Sarasota, FL. The role focuses on end-user IT, including computers, devices, software, and troubleshooting, with a customer-service mindset and growth opportunities within IT.

Primary hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional weekend work and shifts adjusted to support 1st and 2nd shifts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience supporting desktop users.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office, with hands-on troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 users, including Outlook, Teams, account setup, and password resets.
• Knowledge of networking basics, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Wi-Fi, and device network connections.
• Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Self-starter with strong work habits.
• Excellent communication and professionalism with internal and external clients.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite computer and network support for hardware and software issues reported by manufacturing and office users.
• Support shop-floor PCs, kiosks, thin clients, and time clocks.
• Support barcode scanners, label printers, rugged tablets, and plant Wi-Fi.
• Provide first-line support for ERP and shop-floor applications (logins, printing, basic issues); escalate as needed.
• Collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering to support PCs connected to production machines.
• Assist users with email accounts, passwords, and access; perform password resets.
• Manage network users, access, security, and configurations according to standards.
• Install new software or hardware; coordinate third parties when needed.
• Maintain knowledge base and documentation; contribute to team knowledge sharing.
• Participate in team meetings with input and suggestions.
