Job summary

AMETEK is seeking an Onsite Field Engineer in Middlefield, CT to provide deskside support for hardware, software, and OS issues. You will troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals, support meeting room AV equipment, and assist users with connectivity and application problems.

You will diagnose hardware failures, coordinate warranty repairs, and manage IMACD activities, device imaging, provisioning and deployment, with ITIL-driven incident management and strong executive-user

Qualifications

• Experience in desktop support and EUC environments.
• Windows 10/11 administration and troubleshooting.
• Hardware break-fix for desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
• Imaging, provisioning and OS deployment.
• Microsoft 365 support (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, Office Apps).
• Incident and service request management.
• Asset lifecycle management and inventory tracking.
• Basic networking troubleshooting (LAN, WAN, Wi‑Fi, VPN, DNS, DHCP).
• Endpoint management with Intune / SCCM / MECM.
• Software installation, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Active Directory / Azure AD user administration.
• ITIL-based support processes.
• VIP / executive user support.
• Root cause analysis and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Provide deskside hardware, software and OS support.
• Troubleshoot laptops, desktops, printers, scanners, and peripherals.
• Support meeting room and audio/video collaboration equipment.
• Assist users with connectivity and application issues.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware failures; coordinate warranty repairs.
• Perform component replacement and device restoration activities.
• Execute IMACD activities; device provisioning, imaging and deployment.
• Support hardware refresh and migration initiatives.
• Manage asset inventory updates and device decommissioning.
• Handle incidents and service requests within SLAs; escalate when needed.
• Provide onsite support across customer locations; follow safety procedures.
• Support infrastructure teams through field operations.
