Job summary

Avantor in Emeryville, CA, is seeking an associate to support Lab and Production Services with customized lab work and inventory duties. The role reports to the site services manager and collaborates with Lab and Production teams to deliver timely, high-quality service.

Responsibilities include inventory control, purchasing support, shipping coordination, and customer-facing tasks, with a focus on safety and adherence to procedures. The position offers full-time hours and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of experience in material handling/inventory replenishment or customer service.
• Experience in shipping, inventory, or purchasing.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and maintain safety protocols.
• MS Teams experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory movement on and off site and report customer metrics.
• Supervise slow-moving and dead inventory; perform cycle counts.
• Handle daily customer service tasks and communicate with customers.
• Assist with purchasing activities: quotes, back orders, invoicing issues.
• Coordinate shipping of materials and maintain shipping documentation.
• Use SAP and other systems to fulfill duties.
• Update SOPs and contribute to service efficiency improvements.
• Interface with customers and key internal stakeholders.
• Run consigned/non-consigned inventory as required.
