Job summary

Actalent seeks a Project Superintendent to lead industrial construction projects in Birmingham, AL. You will oversee all phases, coordinate staffing and schedules, and ensure safety and adherence to specifications on a fast-paced site.

Your leadership will guide crews, subcontractors, inspectors, and suppliers to deliver quality results. The role emphasizes coordinating multi-discipline teams, resolving on-site challenges, and driving continuous improvement in construction methods and project

Qualifications

• 4–10 years of metal building and concrete construction experience.
• Industrial construction background preferred over commercial office projects.
• Hands-on steel erection and concrete construction experience.
• Proven supervision experience directing crews and coordinating phases.
• Ability to read and apply construction specifications and documents.
• Ability to plan and manage schedules, staffing, and resources.
• Experience coordinating subcontractors and supervisory personnel to prevent delays.
• Strong leadership to manage both supervisory and non-supervisory staff.
• Solid understanding of OSHA rules and enforcing safety on site.
• Current valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications to plan construction procedures and staffing.
• Assemble and organize supervisory, clerical, engineering, and field workers.
• Coordinate procurement of tools, equipment, and materials per schedule.
• Direct and confer with supervisors and subcontractors on procedures and timelines.
• Address complaints and grievances fairly and promptly.
• Collaborate to resolve construction problems and improve methods.
• Inspect progress to ensure workmanship meets specs and schedules.
• Prepare progress reports and adjust schedules based on findings.
• Supervise maintenance or reconditioning work on existing installations.
• Prepare payroll, per diem, daily reports, safety rosters, and project paperwork.
• Ensure adherence to OSHA and safety policies.
• Mentor subordinate supervisors and crew members.
