Job summary

Johnson Controls, Tampa, Florida, is seeking an HVAC Controls Project Manager to lead control systems projects from planning through closeout onsite. You will coordinate design, programming, installation, commissioning, and turnover while managing costs and ensuring on-time delivery.

You will communicate with customers, pursue approved changes, and direct field teams. A technical degree with field experience or equivalent is required, plus strong problem solving and IT skills.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a technical field with 2 years of relevant field experience, or 4 years of equivalent experience in the building automation industry.
• Experience programming control panels, preferably for HVAC systems.
• Proven experience managing projects from start to finish.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Strong independent work ethic and problem solving skills.
• Proficiency with computers and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC controls projects from planning through final closeout.
• Coordinate hardware design, system programming, installation, commissioning, and turnover.
• Manage project costs, billings, collections, profitability, and cash flow.
• Maintain customer communication and pursue approved change orders as needed.
• Direct subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers, and admin staff.
• Coordinate materials, vendor pricing, ordering, delivery, and project documentation.
