Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC Controls Lead Project Systems Specialist to lead on-site control systems projects, from design and programming through installation and closeout. You will manage costs, schedules, and customer communications while coordinating with subcontractors and field teams.

The role requires a technical associate degree or equivalent HVAC field experience, hands-on design/commissioning of digital controls, and the ability to work independently on site.

Qualifications

• Technical associate degree with two years of field experience, or four years of equivalent related field experience in the HVAC industry.
• HVAC experience with mechanical systems and DDC.
• Hands-on experience in systems design and commissioning of digital HVAC controls systems.
• Ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.
• Ability to perform work independently and manage on-site project activity with limited supervision.
• Strong understanding of control theory and HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of project accounting, costing principles, and contracting.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site control systems projects, ensuring scope, schedule, quality, and financial objectives.
• Oversee hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, commissioning, and closeout.
• Manage project costs, billings, collections, profitability, and cash flow.
• Coordinate communication with customers and subcontractors throughout all phases.
