Job summary

Ballard Marine Construction in Bradenton, FL is seeking a Project HSE Lead to serve as the primary health, safety and environmental resource for assigned projects. Embedded with Operations and field teams, you will drive the daily HSE program and influence safe execution on marine and heavy civil work.

This hands-on role requires field engagement, incident investigations, and training, with the authority to stop work when unsafe conditions are identified to protect personnel and project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field preferred.
• OSHA 30 required; OSHA 510/500 preferred.
• CHST, CSP or similar certification preferred.
• 3+ years of construction safety or HSE experience on heavy civil/marine projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily execution of the project-specific HSE program with Operations leadership.
• Maintain strong field presence to identify hazards and support safe work practices.
• Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions or behaviors are identified.
• Develop and maintain HSE plans, environmental documentation, and project records.
• Lead incident investigations, reporting, and corrective actions.
• Provide safety training and workforce engagement activities.
