Job summary

AppleOne Employment Services in Memphis, TN, is seeking an HR Specialist I for a fully onsite, 11-month contract. The role supports day-to-day HR operations, handles 30–40 Tier 2 tickets per month, and interacts with managers on hires, transfers, and workforce changes.

You’ll utilize Workday, Paradox, First Advantage, and E-Verify while advising on HR policies, compensation, benefits, and employment procedures. Bachelor's degree or equivalent HR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent HR experience.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with HRIS systems (Workday preferred) and HR service tools.
• Basic understanding of employment law, compensation, benefits, and HR policies.
• Comfortable working in a high-volume ticketing environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 2 HR support for employee and manager inquiries via HR help desk ticketing system.
• Utilize HR systems including Workday (HRIS), First Advantage (background screening / ticketing support), Paradox, and E-Verify.
• Support HR processes related to corporate hires, internal transfers, and contingent workforce administration.
• Advise managers and employees on HR policies, compensation, benefits, job classifications, and employment procedures.
• Assist with job evaluations, salary determinations, and job description updates.
• Maintain accurate personnel records, HR documentation, and employee files.
• Support compliance with employment laws, EEO requirements, and internal HR policies.
• Provide responsive customer service for HR-related inquiries from employees and managers.
