Job summary

Sun City Hilton Head Community Association in Hilton Head, SC seeks an experienced Human Resources Manager to support leadership and a workforce of about 150 employees.

The role partners with leadership to oversee day-to-day HR operations including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, benefits, leaves, compensation, performance management, policy development, and compliance, while liaising with the ASO and outside counsel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field and five years of HR experience.
• Experience with employment laws, benefit administration, recruiting, policy administration, and employee training.
• Ability to handle confidential information and advise leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite HR guidance and support to employees, managers, and department heads.
• Manage recruitment, postings, interviews, offers, onboarding, and background checks.
• Maintain personnel records and HRIS transactions, including benefits and time off.
• Administer leaves, workers’ compensation, unemployment matters.
• Coach leaders on employee relations, performance management, and compliance.
• Oversee salary classifications, pay grades, and compensation programs.
• Develop HR policies and ensure legal compliance.
• Coordinate training and HR communications.
• Partner with ASO and outside counsel on benefits and legal matters.
• Support leadership and board initiatives.
