Job summary

Island Oaks RV Resort seeks a high-impact Human Resources Generalist to serve as on-site HR leader, owning full-cycle recruiting and driving employee relations, engagement, and operational HR excellence. This role partners with resort leadership to shape culture and talent strategy.

You will lead hospitality recruitment, forecast hiring needs, coach managers on selection, oversee onboarding, and ensure compliance across wage, benefits, and performance processes in a fast-paced resort environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field required
• 3–5+ years progressive HR experience with strong emphasis on full-cycle recruiting
• Experience in hospitality, resorts, or multi-unit environments preferred
• Strong knowledge of employee relations, employment law, and HR best practices
• Ability to influence leaders and operate independently as the sole HR presence on-site
• Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Experience mentoring leaders or acting in a lead HR capacity is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle recruitment for all resort roles (hospitality, operations, maintenance, F&B, guest services, seasonal staff)
• Forecast hiring needs with department leaders and define roles
• Coach managers on selection best practices and conduct interviews
• Oversee onboarding programs to ensure rapid integration and engagement
• Manage compensation recommendations and negotiations
• Track KPIs: time-to-fill, quality of hire, retention, source effectiveness
• Ensure compliance with wage/hour laws, I-9, EEO, and workplace safety
• Lead HR initiatives at property level and mentor supervisors/managers
