Job summary

State of Ohio – Ohio Department of Job and Family Services in Akron seeks a Human Resources Representative to provide vital onsite HR support, handle personnel actions, coordinate hiring, and manage onboarding. The role supports local engagement and HR systems across the facility.

You will work with HR, labor relations, training, and facilities to ensure smooth operations and effective employee services in a full-time capacity.

Qualifications

• 24 months experience in human resources.
• Undergraduate core program in human resources, business, or public administration.
• 12 months experience as a Human Capital Management Associate, 64611.
• The equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Responsibilities

• Serve as onsite HR contact for all employees at the Akron facility.
• Compose, process, and enter personnel actions, including ePAR transactions.
• Deploy recruitment methods, build and advertise vacancies and postings.
• Screen applications to determine minimum qualifications.
• Coordinate recruitment tasks, schedule interviews, support onsite and virtual processes.
• Onboard new employees, collect documentation, conduct background checks, prepare selection packages.
• Manage onboarding logistics, workspace readiness, badge issuance, IT access.
• Respond to inquiries, provide early-stage support for workplace concerns.
• Maintain HR records, prepare reports, support entry of OAKS information.
• Assist higher-level HCM or administrative staff on special projects.
• Support local internal engagement and culture initiatives.
