The Office of Employee and Business Services (OEBS) provides customer service and operational support to ODJFS through five bureaus: Business Services, Civil Rights and Labor Relations, Human Resources, Multimedia Services, and Training and Educational Services. The Human Resources Representative provides vital onsite HR support for employees at the Akron ODJFS location. As the primary HR point of contact, the selected candidate will handle a wide range of employee and business services needs, including HR, Labor Relations, Training, Facilities, and general administrative support. This position will help maintain reliable local HR coverage while supporting agency‑wide hiring processes and onboarding efforts.
In this role, you will perform core HR functions such as processing personnel actions, coordinating recruitment and hiring steps, responding to employee inquiries, and supporting local engagement efforts. The incumbent will also manage onsite logistics like workspace readiness, badge coordination, IT access, and other essential onboarding activities.
Job duties include but are not limited to:

Standard workdays are Monday through Friday. Hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

The candidate, at minimum, must have the following:
This position is in the State of Ohio’s E1 Pay Schedule, Pay Range 10. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $27.73 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
