Job summary

Smithey Ironware Company is seeking an HR Generalist to manage daily People operations across production, warehouse, and office teams. You will handle HRIS, records, benefits, leave, compliance, and first-line employee relations under the HR Manager’s guidance.

Responsibilities include posting roles, interviewing coordination, administering Predictive Index assessments, background checks, I‑9s, onboarding, and offboarding.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of HR generalist experience and ability to own day-to-day HR operations
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred
• SHRM-CP or willingness to obtain certification a plus
• Familiarity with Predictive Index or similar assessments a plus
• HR experience in manufacturing or production environment a plus
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus

Responsibilities

• Maintain the HRIS (Rippling) and employee records, time, and leave
• Administer benefits enrollment, changes, and employee questions; coordinate with brokers
• Post job requisitions, screen applicants, coordinate interviews, and conduct onboarding
• Coordinate IT and equipment setup for new hires and offboarding logistics
• Ensure I‑9 compliance, records, required postings, and policy acknowledgments
• Support employee relations, disciplinary matters, investigations, and terminations
• Benchmark pay data and support compensation reviews; assist with internal communications and events
