Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a part-time Human Resources Assistant in Seattle, WA (onsite only). This 6-month contract-to-hire role runs Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–3:00 PM, with a pay range of $25–$30/hour.

You'll work closely with an experienced HR Manager handling onboarding, recruiting, payroll, benefits, and HR operations. Responsibilities include coordinating onboarding, supporting full-cycle recruiting, processing payroll, maintaining HRIS records, and ensuring policy compliance.

Qualifications

• 6+ months to 1 year of HR experience OR an HR-related degree.
• Experience supporting onboarding, recruiting, or HR administration.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Experience with ATS or HR systems such as Workday, Greenhouse, BambooHR, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating and facilitating new hire onboarding
• Supporting full-cycle recruiting efforts for hourly and salaried positions
• Screening candidates and scheduling interviews
• Assisting with employee relations matters and responding to employee questions
• Maintaining personnel files and HR records
• Supporting benefits administration and employee communications
• Assisting with payroll processing and related recordkeeping
• Updating HRIS and applicant tracking systems
• Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company policies
• Partnering with supervisors and production leaders on workforce needs
• Providing general administrative support to the HR department
