Job summary

Ensemble is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to perform admitting duties for all hospital patients at Ballad Health. You will verify demographics and insurance, assign MRNs, and guide patients through the admission process with compassionate service.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of customer service experience.
• High School Diploma/GED required.
• CRCR certification within 6 months of hire (Company Paid).

Responsibilities

• Assign MRNs, complete medical necessity / compliance checks, collect insurance information, and provide excellent customer service.
• Operate the telephone switchboard and relay calls with professionalism and compassion.
• Utilize auditing and reporting systems to ensure accuracy and completeness of accounts.
• Pre-register patient accounts and collect demographic, insurance, and financial information.
• Explain and obtain signatures for consent forms and educate patients using provided documents.
• Review insurance eligibility responses and enter benefit data to support POS and billing.
• Screen medical necessity using ABN software and distribute related forms.
