Job summary

Buckland is hiring a Customs Compliance Specialist – Client Onsite in Detroit, MI. You will support major clients’ compliance projects, manage OSS shipments, and coordinate with brokers and service providers to ensure regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes data reporting, documentation, and cross-team collaboration, with a focus on accuracy, customer service, and timely delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or International Business.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• U.S. Customs Broker License or CCS preferred.
• 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
• HTS classification and ECCN knowledge a plus.
• MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access.
• Strong problem solving and decision making.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Legally eligible to work for the company.
• Willingness to travel to CAD/USA/MEX as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with compliance projects for major clients.
• Provide logistical support and oversight of service providers.
• Interact with client brokers & compliance vendors.
• Create reports and draft compliance processes/work instructions.
• Ensure timely follow up to obtain documentation.
• Manage Online Shipping System to ensure compliant exports.
• Participate in meetings and team projects to complete tasks.
• Maintain an organized calendar for meetings and initiatives.
• Provide exceptional customer support and resolve inquiries promptly.
