Job summary

Buckland, a global trade solutions provider, is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist to implement and improve EHS programs across warehouse and operations. The role ensures OSHA compliance, regulatory adherence, and proactive risk management while supporting efficiency and employee well-being.

The candidate will conduct audits, lead trainings, manage documentation, and drive continuous improvement, with travel to CAD/USA/MX offices as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience in environmental, health, and safety roles within warehouse or industrial operations.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
• Experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Knowledge of corrective action methodologies (5 Why, Ishikawa, 8D, etc.).
• Familiarity with ISO standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001) (Preferred).
• Strong communication, training, and organizational skills.
• High level of attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
• Bilingual (fluent in both Spanish/English).
• Advanced MS Office knowledge.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be legally eligible to work for the Company at all times.
• Valid Passport and ability and desire to occasionally travel if required to other offices locations in CAD/USA/MX.

Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with all OSHA, environmental, governmental, and company regulations, policies, and safety standards.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments for warehouse, yard, and office operations, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions; perform root cause analysis (5 Why, Ishikawa, 8D) and implement corrective actions.
• Promote a culture of safety by leading training sessions, toolbox talks, and employee awareness programs.
• Ensure proper documentation and reporting of safety metrics, incidents, compliance records, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with environmental regulations.
• Coordinate emergency response programs, including drills, evacuation procedures, and contingency planning.
• Support compliance with CTPAT, OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with operations and management teams to integrate safety into daily warehouse activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain safety equipment, PPE programs, and ensure availability and proper use.
• Participate in internal and external audits, ensuring readiness for inspections.
