Job summary

UC San Diego Health's Temporary Employment Services seeks a Front Office Clinic Assistant to support Medical Center Operations onsite in La Jolla. The assignment lasts 5-6 months with M-F 8:30am-5pm (flexible to 7:30am-4pm).

Compensation ranges from $26.73 to $31.02 per hour, with eligibility for medical benefits and paid time off. Under LVN supervision, duties include patient check-in, appointment scheduling, call screening, triaging, EPIC Cadence use, insurance coordination, and study-patient

Qualifications

• Two+ years of experience with EPIC Cadence.
• Excellent record of punctuality and attendance.
• Experience performing patient administrative duties: check-in, scheduling, call screening, triaging.
• Familiar with healthcare insurance providers (Medicare, MediCal, HMO, PPO, private, cash).
• Experience online EPIC patient registration and medical records.
• Experience coordinating and scheduling study patients.
• General office functions and cash handling experience.
• Strong customer and visitor service to promote a welcoming clinic.
• Strong organizational and collaborative skills; able to take direction.

Responsibilities

• Check in patients, schedule appointments, screen calls, and triage patients.
• Coordinate and schedule study patients.
• Ensure accurate EPIC patient registration and medical records for appointments.
• Promote a welcoming and pleasant clinic environment with excellent service.
• Perform general office functions and file patient documents timely.
• Reconcile end-of-day cash handling.
• Prepare staff meeting materials and assist with logistics.
• Take direction from the Clinic Director in the absence of leadership.
