Job summary

Summit is seeking a motivated, effective food service director to lead our corrections dining program at the Curry County Detention Center in New Mexico. You will oversee all aspects of the food service department to ensure inmates receive nutritious meals on schedule and in compliance with safety standards.

As director, you will manage a team of food service workers, hire and train staff, enforce culinary and sanitation guidelines, and control the budget, including direct ingredient purchasing

Qualifications

• Must have at least two years of experience coordinating food service operations.
• Experience with industrial cooking.
• Excellent communication skills with hourly staff and executives.
• Ability to manage in a diverse environment focused on client and customer satisfaction.
• Experience with and knowledge of all Microsoft Office suite applications.

Responsibilities

• Manage all functions of the food service department and its resources.
• Lead a team of associates, including hiring and training new employees.
• Ensure staff meet culinary, safety, and sanitation standards and regulations.
• Budget the department, including direct purchasing of ingredients and forecasting.
• Coordinate with district manager on dining service technical and administrative aspects.
