Job summary

Astrix Inc. is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to deliver hands-on technical support, hardware maintenance, and on-site services for a mid‑September to mid‑December project.

The role requires traveling to multiple sites weekly, setup and troubleshooting of computer equipment, and assisting users with basic issues in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has extensive hardware knowledge, can work independently, and will document repairs and configurations while

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of relevant field service experience preferred.
• Associate degree or equivalent education/experience in IT, CS, or related field preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience may be considered.
• Extensive knowledge of computer hardware, peripherals, software, and related technologies.
• Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair computer systems, hardware, and peripherals.
• Move, set up, and connect computers and related equipment.
• Verify network connectivity and assist users with access issues.
• Install, document, upgrade, and replace hardware and software systems.
• Provide hands-on technical support at customer sites and project sites.
• Train users on hardware, systems, and procedures.
• Travel to various sites each week to support project requirements.
• Maintain documentation of equipment, repairs, upgrades, and technical activities.
