Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. in Elko, NV seeks a Field Service Technician to perform maintenance, inspection, and repair on mining equipment, ensuring safety, reliability, and uptime.

The role requires electrical/mechanical expertise, the ability to troubleshoot, and mobility to operate across diverse job sites in demanding environments. You will diagnose and fix mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, align motor couplings and gearboxes, and collaborate with customers and teams to deliver timely

Qualifications

• A minimum of two years in a technical service role, with mining or heavy equipment experience preferred.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or equivalent training in mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge of motor control systems and ability to read schematics for troubleshooting.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience aligning couplings, transfer cases, and gearboxes.
• Ability to work independently and in teams with solid communication skills.
• Flexibility to travel to customer sites and adapt to field conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, servicing, and inspection on mining equipment to ensure safety and performance.
• Diagnose issues in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to identify root causes.
• Repair or replace defective parts at customer sites, maintaining safety standards.
• Test repaired equipment to verify performance before return to service.
• Collaborate with field service teams to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Read motor control schematics and install circuits to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Demonstrate proficiency in alignments of motors, couplings, and gearboxes.
• Maintain thorough records of maintenance and repairs for continuous improvement.
