Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. in Elko, NV is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform maintenance, inspection, and repair of mining equipment, ensuring safety, reliability, and optimal performance for customers.

The ideal candidate has at least two years in a technical service role, completion of an accredited apprenticeship or technical college in mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems, and strong abilities in reading schematics, motor controls, and gear alignments.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years in a related technical service role, preferably with mining or heavy industrial equipment.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or equivalent of at least one year of technical college in mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems.
• Strong ability to read schematics and apply them to troubleshooting.
• Experience with alignment of motor couplings, transfer cases, and gearboxes.
• Ability to work independently and in teams with clear communication and safety focus.
• Willingness to travel and operate in varied surface mining environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, and inspection on mining equipment to ensure safety and reliability.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and implement effective solutions.
• Repair or replace defective parts at customer sites while maintaining safety standards.
• Test repaired equipment to verify performance before return to operation.
• Collaborate with field teams to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Troubleshoot motor controls and circuit installations using schematics.
• Demonstrate proficiency in mechanical alignments for longevity and performance.
• Maintain detailed records of service activities and contribute to continuous improvement.
