Job summary

RTX is seeking an experienced Facilities, Lead Technician (HVAC Specialist) for an onsite role in Dulles, VA. The position leads maintenance operations, troubleshoots complex HVAC systems, and directs facilities personnel to ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability.

You will supervise contractors, support CMMS tasks, and manage preventive maintenance across mechanical systems, with after-hours on-call rotation as needed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of facilities HVAC technician and leadership experience.
• Universal EPA Certification.
• Hands-on experience in commercial HVAC troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of Pneumatic controls, thermostats and VAV Boxes.
• Ability to read HVAC schematics and blueprints.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and BAS interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance operations and serve as SME for commercial HVAC systems.
• Oversee external contractors for MEP work with safety and quality in mind.
• Assist CMMS for routine repairs and preventive maintenance.
• Perform hands-on maintenance and advanced troubleshooting for chillers, boilers, RTUs, AHUs, VRF systems, and cooling towers.
• Monitor and optimize BAS for comfort and energy efficiency.
• Lead preventative maintenance to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
