Job summary

The University Gateway Corporation seeks an Event Coordinator to oversee planning and execution of events at the McNamara Alumni Center on the University of Minnesota campus.

You will manage about 125 events annually, lead planning meetings, coordinate services, and serve as onsite lead to ensure guest experiences and seamless operations. This is a full-time role with a typical 40-hour week and varied hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university required.
• One to three years of experience in event planning, hospitality, conference services, venue management, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage approximately 125 events annually as primary venue contact.
• Lead planning meetings to identify client goals, floor plans, timelines, and logistics.
• Coordinate event services including parking, audiovisual, signage, rentals, and security.
• Maintain clear communication with internal teams, vendors, campus partners, and clients.
• Onsite event lead: welcome clients, manage logistics, coordinate vendors, resolve issues.
