Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Project Manager to lead multi-discipline engineering projects from inception to completion in the US. You will oversee safety, quality, schedule, cost control, procurement, and client relations, guiding EPC and program management teams as required.

The role requires strong communication, analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex contracts, risk reviews, and subcontracting while maintaining project profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree with 7 years of experience in engineering/construction management.
• Experience on construction project sites or program management in aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, or water preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work overtime on short notice.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work collaboratively with owners, contractors, engineers in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Strong experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership of multi-discipline engineering projects from concept to completion including safety, quality, engineering, procurement, construction, environmental compliance, project controls, and client relations.
• Establish project teams and coordinate activities across disciplines to ensure efficient staff utilization.
• Manage all aspects of project communication.
• Lead RFP package development, bid and scope of work.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, manage scope, and control costs.
• Serve as main client contact for coordination, budgeting, subcontracting, staffing and environmental compliance.
• Manage contract reviews, negotiations, approvals, and change orders.
• Lead risk reviews and consult with Risk Department as required.
• Provide cost forecasts and accruals to clients and leadership.
• Monitor progress and provide direction to meet schedules and budgets.
• Manage contract closeout activities.
• Develop new business by expanding client relationships.
