Job summary

HRU Technical Resources is seeking a seasoned software engineer to join a team developing embedded application software for a new ground combat vehicle program. You will contribute across the full software lifecycle, from requirements and design to coding and testing, on 100% onsite work in Sterling Heights, MI.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in software development, proficiency with C/C++, Python, Java, and Qt, and experience with VxWorks, Linux, RTOS, and middleware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in software development or related engineering discipline.
• Experience with Git, GitLab, Bitbucket, Java, C#, C++, C, Python, and Qt.
• Experience with VxWorks, Linux, RTOS, virtualization, BSPs, GVOS, or similar platforms.
• Experience with serial and network protocols such as RS-232/422, CAN, TCP/IP, and UDP/IP.
• Experience with DDS, Kafka, or other publish/subscribe middleware.
• Experience with ground combat vehicle network architecture.
• Familiarity with GCIA, MOSA, SOSA, and/or FACE standards.
• Experience with Agile development processes and tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop software across vehicle domains including board support, cybersecurity, displays, and downloading.
• Perform software requirements analysis and design documentation.
• Develop, integrate, and test software code and perform unit and functional testing.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineering and Software Quality.
