Job summary

Contract Professionals, Inc. is seeking a Software Developer in Sterling Heights, MI to support embedded application software for a new ground combat vehicle program. This onsite role covers the full software lifecycle, from requirements through releases.

Candidates should have 4+ years of software development, strong C++ experience, and familiarity with DOS, Git, and cross-domain integration. Travel and occasional overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 4+ years of experience in a related software development role.
• Strong C++ development experience.
• Experience with DOS.
• Experience with Git, GitLab, and/or Bitbucket.
• Experience with one or more of the following: Java, C#, C, Python, or Qt.
• Experience working with mixed OS environments (VxWorks, Linux, RTOS, virtualization).
• Experience with serial and network protocols (RS-232/422, CAN, TCP/IP, UDP/IP).

Responsibilities

• Develop software documentation and code across vehicle domains such as board support, cybersecurity, displays, or downloading.
• Perform software requirements analysis.
• Develop software designs using department-approved tools and standards.
• Develop C++ code in accordance with established department standards and procedures.
• Develop test procedures and perform unit and functional testing of executable software.
• Perform hardware/software integration.
• Debug software issues identified through multiple testing phases.
• Provide development task status updates to software project leads.
• Contribute to software releases involving multiple developers.
• Interface with Systems Engineering and Software Quality.
• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies.
• Support continuous improvement processes and methodologies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
