Job summary

Group CBS, Inc. seeks an entry-level Electrical Technician to perform onsite electrical apparatus work at customer facilities.

You will assist in mechanical and electrical tasks across power transmission, distribution, and generation systems, reading manuals and schematics to troubleshoot and repair equipment. The role requires strong problem-solving and communication skills, plus basic PC and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; higher degree preferred but not required.
• Experience in electrical substation testing, construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, assembly, and commissioning preferred but not required.
• Zero to three years of relevant experience.
• Entry-level role with a strong willingness to learn and mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical apparatus work onsite at customer facilities, including testing, maintenance, commissioning, upgrades, and repairs.
• Assist in mechanical and electrical tasks on equipment used in power transmission, distribution, and generation.
• Read manuals, schematics, and diagrams to troubleshoot equipment.
• Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean components in a substation.
• Assist in Transformer, Cable, and Circuit Breaker testing.
• Participate in installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment.
• Attend safety meetings and training.
