Job summary

Group CBS, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform electrical testing, commissioning, maintenance, and repairs at customer facilities in Maryland. This role requires adherence to safety standards and extensive field work.

You will read schematics, troubleshoot substations, and support compliance with NFPA 70E and OSHA. Significant travel, possible overtime, and background checks are part of the position.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology preferred but not required.
• Experience in electrical substation testing, construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, assembly, and commissioning is preferred but not required.
• Military experience is acceptable.
• Other useful experience includes mechanical aptitude and an eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist in mechanical and electrical tasks on equipment used in power transmission, distribution, and generation at customer facilities.
• Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean components in a substation.
• Participate in installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment.
• Rotate emergency on-call duty and respond to customer emergencies timely.
