Job summary

Group-CBS is seeking an entry-level Electrical Technician to perform onsite electrical apparatus work at customer facilities. The role covers testing, preventive maintenance, commissioning, upgrades, and repairs of electrical equipment.

You will read manuals and schematics, troubleshoot issues, and support installation and maintenance activities for substations. Expect safety training, possible overtime, and travel within the region.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED; a bachelor’s or associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology or military experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience in electrical substation testing, construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, assembly, and commissioning is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the execution of mechanical and electrical tasks on equipment used in power transmission, distribution, and generation at customer facilities.
• Read and interpret manuals, schematics, and write diagrams to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean all components in a substation.
• Participate in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment.
• Rotate emergency on-call duty and respond to customer emergencies in a timely manner.
