Job summary

Group CBS is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform electrical apparatus work onsite at customer facilities, including testing, maintenance, commissioning, upgrades, and repairs.

The role requires reading schematics, troubleshooting complex electrical problems, and adhering to safety standards. Candidates should be prepared to travel, work overtime, and participate in ongoing training and safety programs.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED; technical degree preferred.
• Experience with electrical substation testing or maintenance is a plus.
• Willingness to travel and work outside standard hours is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist in mechanical and electrical tasks on equipment used in power transmission, distribution, and generation at customer facilities.
• Read manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems.
• Troubleshoot, repair, replace, and clean components in a substation.
• Participate in installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment.
• Attend safety meetings and training.
• Other duties as assigned.
