Job summary

Actalent in Fort Worth, TX is seeking an Electrical Controls Design Engineer to support industrial automation projects from concept through startup. The role combines electrical design, control panel design, PLC programming, and commissioning, offering ownership of projects through the full lifecycle.

Responsibilities include designing control systems and panels using AutoCAD Electrical, building BOMs, programming Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMIs, and assisting with FAT/SAT, testing, and startup

Qualifications

• Experience with industrial controls design and implementation.
• Strong AutoCAD Electrical (or Autocad) and control panel design experience.
• PLC programming experience, preferably Allen-Bradley Studio 5000/RSLogix 5000.
• HMI development experience, ideally FactoryTalk View.
• Ability to support startup and commissioning activities with occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control systems, schematics, and control panels using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Develop BOMs, select hardware, and create technical documentation including Functional Design Specifications (FDS).
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs, primarily within Allen-Bradley environments.
• Support panel testing, FAT/SAT activities, startup, and commissioning.
• Collaborate with customers, sales teams, and project stakeholders to deliver automation solutions.
