VulcanForms Inc. in Newburyport, MA is seeking a Staff Senior EHS Specialist to lead hands-on environmental, health, and safety programs on the shop floor.

You will partner with Operations, Engineering, Facilities, and Maintenance to identify hazards, reduce risk, and strengthen the site’s safety culture while ensuring regulatory compliance. The role requires translating regulations into practical, sustainable controls and supporting continuous improvement of EHS procedures and work instructions

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing or similar complex industrial settings.
• Experience implementing EHS programs and working with manufacturing operations.
• Strong OSHA General Industry knowledge.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, inspections, incident investigations, and root-cause analyses.
• Experience delivering EHS training and coaching employees and supervisors.
• Comfortable spending significant time on an active manufacturing floor.
• Ability to support multiple shifts and locations when required.
• Experience with combustible dust and related OSHA/NFPA regulations.
• Ability to provide training to individuals or groups.

Responsabilités

• Lead day-to-day implementation of site EHS programs and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits, observations, and risk assessments.
• Monitor compliance with established EHS policies, procedures, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify gaps and drive corrective and preventive actions through closure.
• Maintain accurate EHS records, compliance documentation, and performance data.
• Support development and continuous improvement of EHS procedures, standards, and work instructions.
• Partner with Operations and Engineering to identify hazards and implement effective engineering, administrative, and work-practice controls.
• Perform Job Hazard Analyses / Job Safety Analyses and task-based risk assessments.
• Support safe introduction of new equipment, processes, materials, and facility modifications.
• Participate in operational readiness reviews and pre-startup safety assessments.
• Provide EHS guidance for machine safety, hazardous energy control, electrical safety, material handling, PPE, chemical safety, and other manufacturing risks.
• Maintain a strong shop-floor presence and coach employees and leaders on safe work practices.
