Job summary

VulcanForms seeks a VP HSSE to lead health, safety, security and environment programs as the company scales. You will own strategy, standards, and culture across sites, driving a unified set of safety practices and digital workflows.

The role focuses on growing safety infrastructure, implementing near‑miss programs, incident investigations, and data‑driven risk management, with partnerships across Operations, HR, Legal and Engineering.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive EHS experience with at least 7 years in a senior or executive leadership role.
• Experience managing EHS across multiple facilities during rapid growth and geographic expansion.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA frameworks, EPA guidelines, and multi‑jurisdictional compliance.
• Hands-on experience implementing EHS technology and data-driven safety programs.
• CSP or CIH preferred; CHMM a plus.

VP, Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE)

Job Purpose

VulcanForms is hiring a VP, Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) to own and scale our safety and environmental programs across our organization. As we build out new facilities and hire rapidly, this role is critical to ensure safety remains a top priority. The role focuses on scaling an existing foundation, standardizing best practices, modernizing management, and building systems and a team to deploy consistently.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior EHS authority, owning strategy, standards, and culture across all current sites with accountability for scaling nationally.
• Architect, incentivize, and govern a company-wide Near Miss Program; oversee corporate framework for incident investigations, root‑cause closure, and workers’ compensation management in partnership with HR and Legal.
• Assess the current EHS program across all sites, identify gaps, and build a unified set of standards, protocols, and repeatable deployment frameworks for new site launches.
• Drive continuous improvement for safety SOPs, standardizing safety‑critical work instructions and operational procedures across all facilities.
• Lead workforce safety readiness for new sites—hazard assessments, emergency response planning, initial training ramp—and architect ongoing training programs for a growing workforce.
• Build a safety culture beyond compliance, engaging frontline workers, encouraging early incident reports, and using near‑miss data to drive change.
• Assess, select, and implement modern EHS technology—EHS management platforms, IoT monitoring, predictive analytics, AI risk‑identification—to replace manual processes with real‑time digital workflows.
• Own EHS KPIs and reporting cadence for senior leadership; use data to identify risk trends and make the business case for investment.
• Partner cross‑functionally with Operations, Engineering, HR, and Legal to embed EHS thinking in every business stage.
• Ensure consistent compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all applicable regulations; serve as primary liaison with regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive EHS experience, with at least 7 years in a senior or executive leadership role in industrial or heavy manufacturing; advanced degree or MBA preferred.
• Proven track record managing EHS across multiple facilities simultaneously, leading programs through significant growth—new site buildouts, rapid headcount scaling, geographic expansion.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA frameworks, EPA environmental guidelines, and multi‑jurisdictional compliance.
• Hands‑on experience implementing EHS technology, digital transformation initiatives, or data‑driven safety programs, including automated monitoring and real‑time compliance reporting platforms.
• A systems thinker and proactive problem solver—build processes that prevent recurring issues.
• CSP or CIH preferred; CHMM a plus.

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this position is $230,000 to $287,800.
